The reverse displays a bald eagle prepared to take flight as it sits atop a rock. Inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “HALF DOLLAR” above and below the eagle, respectively. The phrase “E PLUIBUS UNUM” is displayed to the left of the eagle. The purity and weight are shown on the reverse as well.
