A bamboo display to house your coin. Graded flawless (NGC PF 70 ULTRA CAMEO) in a pristine slab (just received from NGC). My packaging is second to none. Please read what I have provided on this exclusive and exciting product. Thank you for stopping by. The 2025 VE Day 80th Victory Gold One-Eighth. Sovereign is minted from 22 carats of gold, plus 2 carats of palladium. The addition of pure palladium, itself a precious metal as one of the platinum group of metals and one of the most valuable precious metals on earth, softens the yellow tones of gold and creates a subtle white hue. Known as’Victory Gold’, this whitish appearance symbolises the peace brought about by V. Day, and this combination of rare precious metals reinforces the significance of this year’s commemoration. This coin is the first of its kind ever to be produced using this unique alloy. With so few World War Two veterans alive today, it has never been more important to remember this critical moment in England’s history. Day 80th “Victory Gold” One-Eighth Sovereign is a lasting commemoration of peace and the ultimate tribute to Victory. I hereby confirm that the one-eighth sovereign accompanying this certificate is the first of its kind ever to be minted in a special gold alloy of 22 carat gold plus 2 carats of palladium, known as’Victory Gold’. This composition gives the coin a white hue appearance, to mark the 80th anniversary of V. This coin features a Dove of Peace design by artist Jody Clark, designer of the portrait of His Majesty King Charles III which is on the other side. I further affirm this coin conforms to the specifications shown within this certificate of authenticity and is subject to a strict limitation of just 6,999 coins. Signed by: Simon Mellinger, Managing Director. Hattons Sell Out Guarantee; How you benefit. It’s nice to own coins that someone else is chasing – it’s a great feeling knowing that you have something that others now want. At Hattons of London this rarely happens as we offer coins with sensible starting mintages that usually sell out. However, we’ve decided to go one step further. Many of the series we now offer have a Sell Out Guaranteed: on a specific date, any unsold coins are melted down (and independently verified). Buyers of the coin receive a new certificate with the final mintage. Here is the back cover from the 85 page booklet that comes with this wonderful collection. Life in Britain during the Second World War was an enormous struggle, but that struggle didn’t end with V. After a brief period of joy and relief, the harsh realities of a war-ravaged country and the tragic loss of 384,000 men and women in combat and 67,000 civilians in German bombing raids soon took their toll. Many city centres were scarred by bombsites; homes, factories and offices were in ruins and 2.9 million service personnel had to be absorbed back into families and employment. It was an enormously challenging moment in history. During the war, the country had found in Winston Churchill a leader more like a warrior-hero from the past than a twentieth century politician. What it needed in peacetime was a different kind of hero, one with a vision to build a new country by empowering a team of people dedicated to making Britain fairer, kinder and fit for a future world very different from the past. Fortunately, it found one: Clement Attlee. Unlike his predecessor, the flamboyant, charismatic Churchill, Attlee was a modest man whose achievements, undertaken in Churchill’s shadow, and to a certain extent in the shadow of some of his more colourful colleagues, have been somewhat forgotten by history. In this book author Stewart Binns reminds us what life was like in that age of rebuilding, and in many cases, re-imagining, not only the landscape, but in many respects British society.
