GOLD DOUBLOON COB REPLICA 1715 FLEET COIN Pendant piece This PERUVIAN Double Date 1710 REPLICA / COPY was poured in PURE 22kt. GOLD and was cast from a near perfect specimen, and would look great in a Pendant. The Planchet is perfectly round (great for Pendant) and weighs in at approx. 26 grams (basically the same as the authentic piece). The Cross side shows FULL Legends: REX PHILIPUS. HISPANIRUM (King Philip V by the Grace of God King of Spain). The LIONS & Castles are very well detailed as is the nearly Perfect CROSS! The Obverse has nearly a Full Crown and a Perfect Strike displaying the Pillars & Waves with the Mint L on the left (LIMA), with the denomination in the Center 8 for 8 Escudos (Pieces of Eight) and H for the Assayer: Hurtado. The second line: PVA stands for Plus Ultra meaning More Beyond (more beyond the Straits of Gibraltar or Pillars of Gibraltar) and of course the date 710 on the last line. The Legends again are struck in full detail: ETYND. ANO 1710 = and the Indies. Date 1710 (Full 4 digits variety). This piece looks almost Wet in hand, or Proof Like. This piece is marked copy just below the denomination 8 on the Obverse side.
