Authorized NGC & PCGS Dealer. Introducing At Dawn and At Dusk – The First and Last Type 1 and Type 2 Designs ever minted are now available from LCR Coin for the first time to the public. These are the most limited U. Mint Release of all time. Only 500 of each Type 1 and Type 2 Gold and Silver Eagles, all individually numbered. Each Coin was hand struck by then Mint Director David himself. In mid-2021, the U. Mint hosted a very special ceremony, including John Mercanti, to produce the final Type 1 design Gold and Silver Eagles ever and the first Type 2 design coins. This ceremony commemorated the first ever design change of two of the most popular bullion and numismatic coins in the world. This T-2 gold eagle is a highly sought after very low population coin! You may verify the coins certification, population, mintmark and other important details by clicking the View NGC Certificate button above. To coincide with the 35th anniversary of the Gold Eagle the U. Mint introduced a new reverse design in 2021. Jennie Norris’ dignified portrait of a bald eagle is the new Gold Eagle reverse. The eagle is shown in profile, with its strong, curved beak and thick plumage rendered meticulously. His gaze is at once intense and impenetrable, conveying, as Norris describes, pride and wisdom passed down through generations of time. These coins are hitting record breaking prices and disappearing fast. Do NOT miss out on this ultimate collectable/investment coin. Population in Type 2 Gold. At the end of production for the Type 1 reverse 2021 Gold Eagles, the U. Mint kept and numbered each of the last 500 coins. As they transitioned over to the new Type 2 reverse, they also kept the first 500 coins produced in gold and silver. NGC was selected by Stack’s Bowers Galleries to grade and certify the final 250 of the 1-ounce Type 1 Gold Eagles ever struck as well as the first 250 of the 1-ounce Type 2 Gold Eagles ever struck. Why are these coins so special? These limited-edition coins marking the monumental transition between the old and new designs for the Gold and Silver Eagles were produced during a special April 2021 ceremony recognizing their importance to the numismatic community. The event featured the striking of the last of the American Gold Eagle and American Silver Eagles bearing their original designs and the production of first of those coins featuring the new design. Former United States Mint Director David J. Ryder personally struck the bullion coins offered, operating the coin presses at the Mint’s West Point, NY, production facility in April 2021. David was quoted as saying, One of my greatest achievements was overseeing the transformation of the Gold and Silver Eagles for their 35th anniversary. We made sure this group of coins captured the excitement that this milestone represents to the numismatic community. Ryder, was the 34th and 39th Director of the US Mint and is now one of the most prominent signers in the NGC Signature Label program.
