Special Note for Collectors: Look closely at the top. Reverse rim directly above the “ED” in “UNITED”-there is a dark, sharp foreign object/debris trapped inside the striking area. While NGC holds standard “Reverse Struck Thru” nomenclature, visual inspection indicates a retained strike-through, making this piece significantly rarer than a typical non-retained strike impression! Mint gold errors are notoriously difficult to find due to strict minting quality controls on precious metal planchets.
