A 2700 year old coin. The oldest in existence at this level of quality. An NGC certified’Choice VF’, strike and surface quality of 4/5 is an indication of light usage by our ancestors. Many consider the Ionian “geometric” as the first coins engraved with an obverse and reverse design intended to depict meaningful symbolism. They were minted in fractional weights and denominations and are exceedingly rare. These coins precede the Lydian’electrum’ counterpart by at least 25 years.
